Ladies’ Self-Defence Classes to Kick-Off at Airside

wordpress plugins and themes

Swords ladies have been invited to learn the art of self-defence at a new series of classes beginning next week.

Former world light heavyweight Tae Kwon Do champion, Eddie Gavin, will be teaching Krav Maga at Xtreme Fitness at Airside.

A reality-based self-defence system, Krav Maga aims to help get the average person up to speed to take care of themselves in an attack and do whatever it takes to get home safe.

The class is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over and everything can be tailored to the individual, with all levels of fitness are catered for.

Instructors will be on hand to coach participants through each drill and are eager to stress the sessions will not be a ‘boot camp’.

Instead, cutting-edge self-defence concepts will be taught that students can take away and practice, as well as fitness and conditioning drills, that can be done outside of the classes, which bring dramatic results quickly.

Classes will take place at Xtreme Fitness, Unit D3, Airside Business Park, on Monday, 9th January from 8pm to 9pm and on Thursday, 12th January from 7pm to 8pm.

Women’s self-defence is certainly a major issue these days. With crime against women at such high levels I feel it is imperative that more women learn Krav Maga or other forms of effective self-defence.
